Also coming to the Center is Mel’s Drive-in Diner, a throwback to the diners of the 40’s and 50’s. There won’t be any driving up and ordering from a carhop like in the “good old days” (the Rancho Cucamonga Mel's will be a sit-down eatery), but once you step inside there will be no mistaking the atmosphere as being authentic as the Mel's in the film classic, American Graffiti. Rancho Cucamonga's Mel's Drive-In Diner will be the first in the Inland Empire, as the company has concentrated primarily on the Los Angeles and San Francisco markets. However, with the phenomenal growth of the region, and the added advantage of a Rancho Cucamonga location, Mel's will soon be bringing its own unique slice of Americana to RC.
The home-style menu at Mel's is pretty extensive, as the Diner serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and some locations are open 24 hours. From old-fashioned pancakes to mouth-watering burgers to Mel's famous Blue Plate Specials, hungry guests will find it all. And for dessert, nothing beats a slice of Mel's Own Double Cream Cheesecake.
