Sherman Oaks was the third "Next Generation Mel's" to open and is our original Southern California location. Like our West Hollywood restaurant to the south, the Sherman Oaks Mel's is built in the "Googie" architecture style influenced by outer space and the car culture of the 40's, 50's, and 60's. Originally home to Kerry's Coffee Shop, this location is easily accessible via the 101 and 405 freeways. It's also only a half mile away from the world-famous Sherman Oaks Galleria, birthplace of the "Valley Girl" and the choice hangout of the kids from Fast Time at Ridgemont High and Chopping Mall. Today, the Galleria is the number one destination in the San Fernando Valley for its excellent shopping, 16-screen movie theatre, and more.
