Orange County’s first Mel’s Drive-in is housed in a beloved local landmark, the Parasol building. We are proud to call this wonderful 1967-vintage building our home, and admirers of”Googie” architecture will enjoy our authentic roadside sign, classically restored interior, and unique parasol-shaped roof We are located among the new open-air Shops at Rossmoor, near seaside attractions such as the Seal Beach Pier and the Bay Theatre, where you can still see a silent movie accompanied by a live Wurlitzer pipe organ. Seal Beach is a destination for surfers and classic car aficionados, and home to the historic Leisure World, the first major gated retirement ‘paradise’ in the U.S. You will be hungry after taking it all in, so stop by Mel’s for an old-fashioned burger and fountain shake.
